A Planning Guide for Empowering Learners

The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) has joined with Britannica to create an online, interactive planning module to support implementation of AASL program guidelines, saving time and delivering data.

Develops Measurable and Attainable Goals

Librarians will use the guide to define, prioritize, and act on goals that will build an effective school library program according to current principles outlined in AASL’s Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Programs.

Interactive and User Friendly

Step-by-step modules make the guide easy to use and evaluate. Share your program’s progress with easy-to-understand reports, worksheets, charts, and graphs that librarians can use to update school and district administrators.

“This is an essential tool…a game-changer for schools and districts…”

Cassandra Barnett, AASL Past President

“Let this be a lightbulb moment: Use the Planning Guide with an advisory group to give your principal exactly what he needs to understand your program and what it can do for your students!…Because it is multifaceted, it can be used over and over again to engage in reflective practice in the context of continuous professional growth. Best of all, it empowers adult learners to take charge of their own professional development.”
