The new app also includes Britannica’s popular quizzes on history, science, pop culture, literature and other subjects.

The Britannica App has been praised by reviewers, such as the Wall Street Journal’s Walter Mossberg, and is a winner of the Appy Award.

The new version of the app, which is iOS 9 compatible, makes 65,000 encyclopedia articles available free on a wide range of topics including history, science and the arts. Users can subscribe for $14.99 annually to get the full contents of the encyclopedia without advertising.
